omnium-gatherum
ich bin eine sammlerin. schon immer. ich kann mich nur mein leben lang noch nicht entscheiden, WAS ich eigentlich sammeln will. ganz früher waren es radiergummis, plastik-fingerringe und kleine matchbox autos (gerne die rasanten!). später dann sammelte ich mal antike bestecke und alte stühle. da hatten wir aber auch noch eine geräumige altbauwohnung und einen 3einhalbmeter tisch für die ganzen stühle. jetzt ist dafür kein platz mehr… eigentlich auch nicht für meine stetig wachsende schuh-sammlung, aber das wird von mir einfach ignoriert. die ist auch nicht die einzige sammlung im haus… da wären noch die bücher, die vintage vasen und natürlich nicht zu vergessen, die sammlung an mehr oder weniger kitschigen urlaubssouvenirs.
i’m a collector gatherer. i’ve always been. the only thing is, that i never ever could decide WHAT to collect gather together. in the past there were erasers, plastic rings and little matchbox cars (i preferred the racy ones!). later on there was antique silverware and old chairs. it was a time when we lived in a huge flat of an art nouveau building and had space for a giant table to be a good company for all these chairs. nowadays we don’t have so much room anymore… i suppose we don’t have room for my growing collection of shoes either, but i constantly ignore this fact. actually it’s not the only collection in our house… there are pretty books, the vintage vases and of course our collection of more or less kitschy travel souvenirs.
neulich fragte FEE, ob das kitschige ITALIENtellerchen, denn auch wirklich einen platz bei uns zu hause bekommen würde. na, selbstverständlich! es ist der neuste zuwachs meiner tellersammlung, die ihr da sehen könnt. er hängt unter anderem in der gesellschaft von meisen (!!!), neben meg von DONNA WILSON, zusammen mit einem alien und einem mops von BEAT UP CREATIONS. er macht sich in der runde ganz prächtig, der kleine.
FEE asked lately if i will really find a place to display the small cheesy ITALY plate. yes! sure! i think it matches my gathering of plates perfectly. it’s now hung up in a group of tomtits (!!!), meg by DONNA WILSON, an alien and a pug from BEAT UP CREATIONS. i really think the little one looks gorgeous in this company.
ich weiß, manchen menschen wäre das eindeutig zu viel gedöns. aber ich mag gern gedöns um mich haben, das war schon immer so. nur beim staubwischen da nervts manchmal… aber nur kurz.
i know that many people couldn’t live with so much fuss around. but i love to have stuff around, i always did. solely the dusting moments can be kinda annoying… but anyway…
aaah… und dann war da noch… etwas ganz entzückendes in der post! eine vintage postkarte aus palm springs. eine liebe blogleserin hat sie in palm springs für mich gekauft, weil sie dort an mich dachte (ich nehme mal an, sie erinnerte sich an diese LIEBESERLÄRUNG von mir). danke, MICHAELA!!! ich freue mich total über dieses wunderbare mitbringsel. die karte bekommt einen platz an der wand über dem sofa… in meiner sammlung von fotos und postkarten von orten, die ich liebe. wenn man genau hinsieht sieht man sie im ersten foto… da hinten. da wird sie ganz wunderbar reinpassen.
p.s. herr p. meint gerade, ich hätte die vintage GLOBEN vergessen! du meine güte… wie konnte das nur passieren?
aaah…. and then there were this lovely snail mail lately! a vintage postcard from palm springs. a sweet blog reader thought of me when she was in palm springs (supposedly she remembered my declaration of LOVE) and she gave it to me as a gorgeous giveaway. thank you, MICHAELA! i love it. it will get a pretty place in my collection of photographs and postcards from places i love. you can see it on the first picture… it’s there on the wall above our couch. it will be another perfect match.
hamburg hat wirklich so unglaublich viel zu bieten. kein wunder, dass sie eine der schönsten städte der welt ist.
