als meine flickr freundin JESSICA WILSON {scrumdilllydilly} hörte, dass wir einen tagesausflug nach pasadena machen würden, meinte sie, wir müssten unbedingt in der FAIR OAKS PHARMACY & SODA FOUNTAIN {im jahre 1915 eröffnet} ein ROOT BEER FLOAT auf ihr wohl trinken… und das haben wir natürlich getan!
when my flickr friend JESSICA WILSON {scrumdilllydilly} heard that we would have a day trip to pasadena, she told us to have a ROOT BEER FLOAT at the FAIR OAKS PHARMACY & SODA FOUNTAIN {opened in 1915} on her behalf…. and we did of course!
im hinteren teil des ladens gibt es tatsächlich eine echte und richtige apotheke, mit apririn und allem pipapo. im geschenke-shop des vorderen teils gibt es jedoch die verrücktesten sachen zu kaufen. die berühmtesten TV moms als papierpuppen {say hello to peggy bundy} zum ausschneiden, liberace malbücher, affige matrioschkas, bastelkrams und lauter schön albernes spielzeug.
in the back part of the store you can really find a pharmacy, an authentic one selling aspirin and such. in the front they have a gift shop selling funny things like the most famous TV moms in a paperdoll book {say hello to peggy bundy}, liberace drawing books, monkey nesting dolls, crafty stuff and whatever silly toys you may think of.
und dann ist da noch die SODA FOUNTAIN in wunderbar authentischem eisdielen-design… vintage feeling ist hier garantiert.

das sagenumwobene root beer float könnt ihr übrigens hier rechts im bild sehen {eine anleitung,wie man es macht, könnt ihr auch HIER finden}. es war unfassbar süß und kontinuierlich vor sich hin sprudelnd {offensichtlich}. danach hat man garantiert lust auf ‘ne salzige wurststulle. also ich zumindest. ach ja, und man sollte vielleicht darauf verzichten, den rest mit ins auto zu nehmen. nicht gut… gar nicht gut. was für eine klebrige ferkelei. PROST! ;)
you can see the legendary root beer float in the right picture by the way {check out THIS how to make it, if you like to try it}. it was massively sweet and constantly bubbling along {obviously}. i felt like having a salty salami sandwich afterwards. and well, you probably shouldn’t take the rest into the car with you. not good… not at all. what a sticky mess. CHEERS! ;)
