maybe some of you noticed my golden star pants in yesterday’s ELBE BEACH posting!? actually i didn’t purcased it that way, but created it myself. here’s a quick tutorial how i did it.

a hew weks ago i dropped a waterproof pen and it hit my leg two times before it fell down on the floor leaving a long black skidmark there. i removed the line from the floor quite easily using some nail polish remover, but i wasn’t able to get the spots out of my favorite grey pants again.
so i tried to make the best out of it and got my fabric paints out. well, stars are said to be the new polka dots and gold and metallics are trend, so i quickly figured out what to create: golden stars for the pants!
i didn’t need much stuff to get started:
- some pieces of paper [it shouldn’t be too thin and lightweight]*
- temporary adhesive spray for textiles [like you need it for machine embroidery]*
- a star paper punch
- gold-metallic fabric paint [choose opaque paint if you want to use it on darker fabrics]
- a brush
- scissors [forgot them in the picture, sorry]
i made many small stencils using the paper and the star punch and generously sprayed them with the adhesive on one side. i placed them on the pants and pressed them on to fix them. this is important to avoid any “crawling” of paint under the stencil which might cause unwanted blotches. *you can also use FREEZER paper instead of the normal paper plus adhesive. that would be surely the more elegant method. but i didn’t have some at hand.
fixieren konnte.

after positioning the stencils i painted them out very carefully [from
the points of the stars to the middle]. after the paint had dried, i
peeled of the stencils and conitued the same way on the backside of the
pants using fresh stencils.
the fabric paint had to dry through for at least 6 hours before i fixed it
with a flat iron.

viel spaß beim nachmachen! have fun trying it yourself!
